As we get excited about voting tomorrow, will the result of the election have any measurable impact on the Australian share market going forward?

The Australian share market since 1970

The blue shaded area represents the period of a Coalition/Liberal Government.
 The Red shaded area represents the period of Labor Governments.

The interesting observation is their is no clear trend that shows that a Liberal-National Party government has generated better returns for investors.
